First time to see Shamu

We took Kaitlyn to Sea World today. My sister, Denise, and her kids, Kristen & Lauren, were in town and wanted to go. The weather forecast wasn't good, but we decided to take a chance. It was a good decision - Kaitlyn had a blast! I don't doubt she had any clue what she was looking at, but she really enjoyed all of the people. There was so much to look at.

While we were waiting for the Shamu show to start, she was flirting with a little boy who was about 1 1/2 years old. He kept looking at her and she would smile! He even grabbed his Shamu stuffed animal and held it out as though he was offering it to her! So cute.

I can't wait to take her again when she gets older and can really enjoy it! Here she was early in the day looking super happy in her stroller:

4th Tooth

Man, Kaitlyn got another tooth this week. She now has 4 on the bottom. They seem to be coming in two's...

Doubled Her Weight

I took Kaitlyn in for a weight check last Tuesday. The doctor wanted her weighed at 7 1/2 months to make sure she was still on track. Our "in and out" visit took 45 minutes but at least there was good news! Kaitlyn now weighs 15 lbs 14 oz (2 lbs, 2 oz gain from her 6 month visit). She has increased from the 10th percentile to the 25th! She's a good eater!

Here are some random updates:

She now has tried peaches, carrots, pears, sweet potatoes, bananas, green beans, and apples. She started on rice cereal and is now eating oatmeal. She loves her fruits but could definitely do without the green beans!

Kaitlyn is looking like she is going to crawl any day now. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. So cute!

On Friday, we went to Alamo Cafe with the gang. Mike and Jenny were in from NYC. Kaitlyn sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time! She loved it! It kept her highly entertained.

3rd tooth!

Kaitlyn got her third tooth this week. So now she has three on the bottom and none on the top. Her Grandpa Bork was the first to see the tooth. He was so proud!

First Vacation a Success!

Our 5 nights away, although tough - were a success! Kaitlyn spent Wednesday night to Saturday morning with Grandma and Grandpa Bork. Then she spent Saturday to Monday evening with Grandma Aitken. She was very well behaved while we were gone. She slept well and from what we hear, she was a joy! That is good - maybe the grandparents will want to watch her for our next vacation.

My favorite story from when we were gone was one from my mom. Kaitlyn's pack and play is set up out in the living/dining area, so when she went to sleep each night they retired to the bedroom. One night my mom had to crawl out to try and turn the music off! For some reason her music was just playing continuously. I can just picture it - thank goodness Kaitlyn didn't wake up!

We missed her tons, but she was in good hands!

5 nights away! Yikes!

We are going to NYC for Karen and Brentton's wedding, so we are going to be apart from Kaitlyn for 5 nights! We are taking her to my Mom & Dad's Wednesday night because our flight leaves at 6:30am on Thursday. And we aren't going to pick her up until after work on Monday because our flight lands after her bedtime on Sunday. Man, we are going to miss her!

Swimming again

Kaitlyn went swimming again on Saturday. Definitely a water baby!
