Right on Track

The ENT visit went well on Wednesday. Dr. Bonilla listened to Kaitlyn's breathing and said that she was right on track with his expectations for a 3 month old with laryngomalacia. What a relief. He wants to see her back in another 3 months.

She weighed 10 lbs, 10 oz - so gained 1 lb, 6 oz in the last month. Looks like the additional calories added to the breast milk are helping.

She also got her second synagis shot. This time she really cried when she got it - which of course, broke my heart. I had a hard time calming her down after that. I didn't know if I should stay in the exam room until she stopped screaming, of if I should make a "run" for it and hope that the movement calmed her down. I ended up getting her to quiet down a bit before we left.

The day AFTER synagis shot 2, I got the EOB from synagis shot 1. Much to my dismay, it says we owe $900! I thought that when they told me I was pre-approved by my insurance to get the shots that they meant I would just owe my co-pay. Gulp! I'm hoping it was a coding error and just needs to be ironed out...

ENT Visit Tomorrow

Tomorrow we go to see the Pediatric ENT surgeon that saw Kaitlyn in the NICU. Our pediatrician recommended we go back just to make sure she is on track and for peace of mind. So hopefully tomorrow's visit brings reassurance and not more worries.

After the appointment, I take her for the 2nd Synagis shot.

I'm curious to see how much she weighs. I'm crossing my fingers for somewhere in the high 10 lb range.
