Hailey's First Haircut

I took Hailey for her first haircut this month. She was excited but when it came down to it she was scared and started to cry.  But this momma came prepared with M&M's!  So she got in the chair and we pushed through and she didn't cry after that.  Oh, and she ate almost the whole bag of M&M's!

Here she is with her brave face on:

We watched Frozen. Her hair had gotten pretty long.  Because of the curls, you can't really see how long it is everyday.

Super cute with her bow playing after her haircut.

And look at Kaitlyn! Her hair looks so dark when it is down.  The sun has highlighted her hair when it is up in a ponytail!

All Frozen'ed out!

Mom Camp

In July, I got to go back to Camp Allen, where I spent some summers when I was a kid.  I had such a great time.  Rachel and Stephanie went with me and it was nice to get away.  Also the activities were pretty fun as well!  I can't wait to go back.

On the first night we played Bunco. If you rolled a bunco you got to wear the boa.  I rocked the boa!

My first activity was skeet shooting.  I really only signed up for this one because of Rachel but then there was a scheduling snafu and I went by myself.  But let me tell you, I loved it!  Was terrified but it was exhilarating.

And look - video proof that I actually hit a target!

That afternoon I did the ropes course.  It was super tough and super high.  I was terrified and glad when it was over.  It was definitely physically and mentally challenging.

And it ended in a zip line.  My first and was something I wanted to do.  Weeeeeeee!

We had lots of fun in the evenings sitting and drinking some too ;)  we had 20 years to catch up on!

And I bonded with Larry the Liriope which was in the center of our rocking chair circle.

The last day I did the Giant Swing.  Another terrifying but super fun experience.

It felt like we were so much higher than this looks.  They pulled us back with a truck and we had to hold on and tell them when to stop.  If I was by myself I think I would have lasted 5 seconds but luckily I had someone to push me a bit further.  There is a lull at the beginning of the video because we had to physically let go of the rope and I was saying to my partner, "now wait, what??"  And yes... the scream is me.

July Pics

Take a look at Kaitlyn wearing goggles!  Of course they are Hello Kitty goggles...

On 4th of July, Hailey was sick.  She slept super late - until 10 am and then by 11 am had fallen asleep on the couch.  So mommy and Hailey stayed home while Kaitlyn and daddy went to Karen and Brentton's.  Poor kiddo!

Kaitlyn enjoyed playing with Aria and Kinzie's new toys!

We salvaged the rest of our weekend and had some fun in our backyard.

Kaitlyn was eating marshmallows... and sharing them with Hailey!

Look at this cutie cuddling with Snoopy.  And Snoopy is so patient with her!

One night while Shelley was watching the girls they played in the sprinklers!

And here the girls are enjoying playing at Aria and Kinzie's.

Water fun!

And tuckered out after a day of fun.

Selfie!

And Kaitlyn has been loving to jump.  She loves to be a ballerina and sometimes her jumps look like a cheerleader!  Maybe there is a future there?!?!

She certainly isn't afraid of heights.  Look at how high she will swing at Rainbow Station!  And she still manages to hold on to her Hello Kitty.

Pre-bedtime cuddles

Sleeping craziness!  Kaitlyn was staying in her room less and less.  And Hailey was showing fear of her room as well.  So we decided to try and let them sleep together.  It has had its highs and lows... but they are super cute together.

And a reward for a semi-good night of sleep - new Frozen PJs!

I put this together on August 4.  Take a look at all of the sleeping positions!

Port A June 25-29

We went to Port Aransas at the end of June and brought along Karen, Brentton, Aria and Kinzie for our first visit at the new condo.  We always love being at the coast.  The trip was a bit chaotic at times keeping all of the children happy but we had lots of fun and even snuck in some Cards Against Humanity after the kids went to bed each night (well, I guess the last night we were too tired and kept falling asleep!).

The first day headed out around lunchtime.  We got the kids new headphones for the trip and they really got a kick out of them.  Kaitlyn watched her iPad almost the entire trip.  Hailey was a little harder to entertain - I'm not sure any activity lasted more than 5 minutes :)

When we got to Port A we headed straight to the pool.  We had the place almost to ourselves!

Hailey even jumped to daddy.  The first day they just swam without floaties which was a bit unnerving.  Hailey wouldn't put on her Puddle Jumper.  We finally got her to put it on by having Kaitlyn wear hers too (sorry swim instructor, Mr Aaron).

Then a little sunset by the beach.

Day 2 we checked out the other pool - which was having some issues that trip.  Was a little green looking!

Look at this cutie sleeping in her big girl cot!

Cheetos were a big hit with the girls.

Man, look at all of the gear it takes to have 4 kids at the beach!  I think each time we go we learn a little more.

Silly dada wearing Brentton's hat.

Hailey loved jumping during this trip!
And she was super happy about it!

And the sure sign that it was a great trip - Hailey was too tired to stay awake on the drive home!
