More Vacation Photos

Here we are at a gas station along the way to Corpus.  We stopped to try and get Kaitlyn to go to the bathroom.  No go, but we lucked out and were able to quickly find a place to stop later when she announced that she needed to go!

Here we are hanging out at the condo.  One side of the kitchen table was a bench and it has ruined Hailey from sitting in her booster seat.  She now is refusing :(

We didn't spend that much time on the golf cart this year.  Last year we used it to entertain Kaitlyn if Hailey was napping or in bed at night, but Kaitlyn does a good job of entertaining herself these days.  As soon as we got to the beach, Kaitlyn would request to get in the water.  Hailey rides in my lap and because she won't wear any sunglasses, she gets the wind in her poor eyes.  So we just used it to get us from Point A to Point B - no joy rides.

Definitely the favorite activity of the trip - playing with the buckets in the water!  We only had 3, so we used that blue cup that we borrowed from the house.  Oops... that cup made the trip back to San Antonio with us!

2nd Annual Aitken Family Vacation

We got back yesterday from a long weekend in Port Aransas.  We went back to Cinnamon Shore, the same place we went to last year.  We picked the girls up around noon, grabbed some lunch to go and headed out.
Each day we would start the day at the beach.  Kaitlyn really surprised us this year by enjoying running in the waves.  She didn't mind the wet sand and in fact went barefoot because she didn't like the sand in her shoes. But she had no interest in walking in the dry sand.  Hailey really wasn't too interested in the ocean and we didn't hang around long enough to see if she would have sat in the sand and played.  The seaweed was really bad this year, so it wasn't super pleasant.  And another day Kaitlyn had to go to the bathroom, so we made a quick exit.

After the beach, we would spend the rest of the morning at the pool.  Kaitlyn was a fish and loved jumping off of the side of the pool.  She interacted with some other kids and really had a blast.  She was content to stay at the pool for as long as we let her!  We usually took a break for lunch or soon after to try and get Hailey to nap.

After Hailey's "naptime", we would go to the other pool.  I use "naptime" loosely because most of the trip Hailey was on a sleep strike.  It was like she thought that she couldn't sleep or she would miss all of the fun. Unfortunately that made for an irritable Hailey.  She got really skittish at the pool and had no interest in being in the water.  But she was content to sit and play with some buckets.  When she got hot she would dump some water on herself!  Of course, on the last day she let us take her in the water.

We can't wait to go back next year!
