Fiesta Arts Fair

On Saturday, Eric and I headed downtown early for the Arts Fair.  The weather was great.  We only stayed for a couple of hours, but we managed to have some fun.  Kaitlyn did some crafts.  She really is into painting right now and we really hadn't gotten to witness it.  So that was neat watching her.  After the crafts we relaxed for a bit and listened to some music.  Kaitlyn had fun dancing.  A good day!

Autism Walk

Today we participated in the Walk for Autism.  I was really glad that we were able to do that as a family.  Last year I wanted to participate but I got pink eye.  We started out the day bright and early.  I messed up the alarm and so we overslept a bit.  But the kids were troopers.  They both rode most of the 2 mile walk in the strolller.  Kaitlyn got out a few times and tried to push Hailey but otherwise she just sat back and took in the sights.  I think they both really enjoyed looking at all of the people.  After the walk we headed with my MoCAA group to Bigz for lunch.  The girls ran around a ton together.  That was our first trip since the girls really starting playing together.  So it was cute to see them run around.  A great day!

Zoo Field Trip

I went with Kaitlyn on her zoo field trip.  I decided to volunteer before waiting to see if they would require someone to chaperone.  Our new Bunny Hello Kitty went too.

Fishies were the favorite!  Here she is sitting with her friend Amara.  It made me sad because Amara kept trying to hold Kaitlyn's hand which Kaitlyn was not too excited about.  She would yell, "NO!"

The entire class split in 2 and we walked around with Ms. Barbara.  In our group there were 8 kids, Ms. Barbara, Mr. Noel who works at Rainbow, and 7 parents!!  So lots of helpers.

The day started out a little chilly.  But it was great weather.  Kaitlyn had fun but I think she would have preferred to walk around without the rest of the kids so she could stay at each exhibit as long as she wanted.  She was usually one of the first kids ready to move on (my arm is sore from her tugging on it).  Except for the fishies - she would stay there all day if we let her.

Random Cuteness

It was 50's day at school so I planned ahead and ordered this super cute outfit for Hailey.  At first she looked like she was not going to be happy in the skirt.  But then I pointed out the "doggy" and she liked that!

We broke down and bought a car for Hailey.  She was always trying to get in Kaitlyn's car which would make Kaitlyn mad.  Best idea ever!  They are so cute in their cars.  Even if Kaitlyn's is quite small for her now.  Eric is considering making it a convertible!

Bath time has become enjoyable again. They like to play together in the tub.

Hailey has been making this face.  Is this her duck face?

Hailey and I wore blue on April 2 for Autism Awareness day!

They called me from elementry school that same day and said Kaitlyn had a stomach ache and some diarrhea.  I went and got her and brought her home.  She seemed fine so I brought her to the office with me for a lunch meeting we had.  We were rehearsing our flash mob dance and Kaitlyn had a blast watching us dance and even dancing along.  After that we went to my office so I could talk to a few of my team members.  She was so good!  She really liked sitting at my desk.

Hailey is getting too big!  She really doesn't want to sit in the high chair anymore.  But look, she does quite well in a chair.  And drinking with a straw too!  (Although 2 seconds later she dumped the drink in her lap!)

She wore this denim skirt yesterday.  At first it looked too big and balloony but of course she was adorable!

We got a new bubble machine in the backyard and the girls are loving it.  "Bub-ba," says Hailey.

A Month of Doctor Appointments

We have gone to a TON of appointments in the last 4 weeks.  Eric took Kaitlyn to the dentist twice.  They are taking it slow and letting her get comfortable.  The dentist has peaked in her mouth and mentioned it looked like she grinded her teeth and that she had reflux.  Huh?

Eric took Hailey to the ENT for a checkup just to make sure the tubes are still in place and looking good.  All was well - too bad no pictures.  2 days later I took Hailey to the pulmonologist.  I told him that I felt like she was never 100% healthy.  Considering all of the preventative medicine she is on, that didn't make him happy.  He would like to see her better. So he ordered all sorts of blood tests to test for allergies, immune deficiencies, etc. We are still waiting on those results.

She really enjoyed these toys in the pulmonologist's office.  She impressed me with her ability to put some of the pieces together.

The day after that appointment, Hailey started running a high fever.  I took her to urgent care and they diagnosed her with strep!  Man, poor kiddo.  Most kids don't get it that young.  A few days on the antibiotics and yet she was still running a low grade fever.  So back to the pediatrician we went.

That appointment had more bad news - MONO?? Have you ever heard of an 18 month old getting mono? Yeah, me neither.  So steroids and more antibiotics.  But finally today she was well enough to go for her 18 month well visit.

She is 35 percentile in both height and weight.  The doctor wants us to go back to the cardiologist.  Her heart murmur from birth is still there - she thought it would have closed up by now so thinks we should go back just to get it checked out.  More doctors!!  Good thing we have met our deductible already this year!
