OK - who knew that pregnancy affects your hair?!?!? I'm having some super bad hair days. I think my hair is oily. I don't even know - it just feels like I have too much product in it, when in fact I have none!
Where is the glow? So far it's bad hair and bad skin. And my pants don't fit.
On a side note, my bloodwork from last week all looked good.

1st Ultrasound!
So I had my first OB visit today. And she did an ultrasound. There's not much to see - the baby is only 3 mm long! The larger black item is my uterus (I think) and that little speck in there is the baby! At least I can stop worrying about that. For some irrational reason, I thought she would not be able to find anything and would think I was crazy and that I was never pregnant!
The due date is 11/10 (based on counting days) or 11/13 (based on the size in the ultrasound).
That's about all that happened. She answered my questions and she seems very laid back about everything. Which is good - cuz everyone knows what a worrier I am! Here were her answers to my questions:

That's about all that happened. She answered my questions and she seems very laid back about everything. Which is good - cuz everyone knows what a worrier I am! Here were her answers to my questions:
- Can I travel - yes (wshew - since I need to be in Montana in April and Orlando in May!)
- Can I bowl - yes (double wshew - I would miss my bowling)
- Can I get a massage - yes (sigh - can't wait!)
- Can I take any cold medicines - YES (could have used that tip on Monday)
- Can I drink diet soda - yes (good thing, because diet caffeine free dr pepper was my substitute for coke zero and I can't go without my diet sprite!)
- How much caffeine - equivalent of less than 1 cup of coffee per day (oooh, so maybe I'll have a little coke zero from time to time)
The best news we got is that we found out her practice is moving so the baby will be delivered at North Central Baptist in Stone Oak! That was a relief because her current office/hospital were not convenient to our house, Eric's work or my new job. We were just sticking with it because I like her so much! So near the end when I'm going to see her weekly - her office will be just a hop, skip and a jump away from work or our house! Yippee!

6 weeks, 2 days
Ugh, so I'm in the midst of my first (and hopefully last) pregnancy illness. I got a cold! And not wanting to take any drugs really made it miserable! I stayed home from work for 2 days, drank lots of fluids and watched a lot of lifetime movies! I figured I need to take care of myself.
I go to the doctor tomorrow for my first checkup!

I'm pregnant!
So I've seen people do this and thought it sounds like a good idea - a blog to share the journey of the pregnancy and keep all my friends and family in the loop.
It's still quite early, so not everyone knows yet. I'm 5 1/2 weeks. I decided that counting weeks in pregnancy is like your age - when you are a kid, every half year matters. But at some point, you stop counting those 1/2 years. So maybe by 10 -weeks, I'll stop counting the halves.
I feel really good. I'm hoping that means no morning sickness for me. Perhaps I'll be lucky.
My hunger has already increased and the sweet tooth is out of control! I'm trying not to eat too much so I don't gain too much weight. I wanna be one of those girls that you can't tell is pregnant until they turn and you see this huge belly. Ok - so that is probably not that realistic. But I am walking each day and intend to keep that up. I'm wearing my pedometer and trying to get in my 10,000 steps. But what's really happening is I added a 20-30 min walk to my normal routine. So I'm not getting up to 10,000 everyday.
I go to my first doctor's appointment next week - Thursday, the 19th.
