A Mini-Pool
I bought a miniature inflatable pool for our backyard. So for the last couple of weekends, Kaitlyn and I have been "swimming." We don't fill up the pool all the way and she and I sit in it and she plays. She loves the water! She splashes and squeals and kicks her legs! It is really fun to watch. The hard part has been keeping Snoopy out of the pool!
Army Crawl
Within the last few weeks, Kaitlyn has mastered the "army crawl." She drags herself across the floor using her forearms and her legs. It is the cutest thing! Last weekend when she was scooting around she would let out sounds of protest. I can't decide if it is because she is frustrated that it is so hard to get where she wants to go or if she is getting rug burn. She still gets up in the crawling position and rocks. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until she is the a full blown crawler!
First Trip to the Grocery Store
Last Sunday, Kaitlyn went to the grocery store with me for the first time! Eric usually watches her while I go alone. But since I've been working too much, I wanted all the time I could get with her over the weekend. And it worked out because Eric needed to mow the lawn. So he did that while I went to the store.
It took me an inordinate amount of time to get her in the cart. I had to put down the cart cover and get her secured. I made sure she had some toys and something to chew on. And of course, on the way to the store she pooped and I had to change her diaper before we went in. (On the bright side, I suppose that was better than having to change it in the middle of the shopping adventure).
Kaitlyn was a hit at the store. She got a hug from a grandma and lots of "look at the baby." She really enjoyed looking around at the sites, but was a little annoyed to be sitting backwards. She spent most of her time looking behind her at where we were going. She protested a little during the adventure, so I rushed a little at the end. But all in all, it was a success!

Visiting Mommy at Work
It's been awhile since I've posted. We've been busy and I can't seem to find my camera anywhere! But Kaitlyn just continues to grow up! She is really into clapping now and has 6 teeth (4 on bottom and 2 on top).
This morning she slept until 8:30! That was almost 14 hours straight! Man, that kid can sleep! Unfortunately I had to work today, but Eric brought her to have lunch with me! She was a hit with my coworkers - smiling, laughing and clapping. Such a charmer! And we met at Chili's for dinner. She was getting fussy, but I let her gnaw on some celery for awhile. That was a hit!

First time to see Shamu
We took Kaitlyn to Sea World today. My sister, Denise, and her kids, Kristen & Lauren, were in town and wanted to go. The weather forecast wasn't good, but we decided to take a chance. It was a good decision - Kaitlyn had a blast! I don't doubt she had any clue what she was looking at, but she really enjoyed all of the people. There was so much to look at.
While we were waiting for the Shamu show to start, she was flirting with a little boy who was about 1 1/2 years old. He kept looking at her and she would smile! He even grabbed his Shamu stuffed animal and held it out as though he was offering it to her! So cute.
I can't wait to take her again when she gets older and can really enjoy it! Here she was early in the day looking super happy in her stroller:

And here she was waiting for the Azul show - sitting on Aunt Denise's lap. We had just put some sunscreen on.
4th Tooth
Man, Kaitlyn got another tooth this week. She now has 4 on the bottom. They seem to be coming in two's...
