Stitch Fix Obsession!

OK, so this is a break from my normal posts.  But I can't resist!  I’ve really been enjoying Stitch Fix, the personal styling service that shops for you and sends 5 items of clothing or accessories to your door, either monthly or on the date you choose.

If you keep nothing, you send it all back in their prepaid envelope and they charge you a $20 styling fee. But if you keep at least one item, that fee goes toward the cost of your item.  But the entire box (which I did the first time) and you get a 25% discount.
My first item is the Margaret M Emer High Waisted Cropped Trouser.  Can I just say that I love these pants?  They don't button or zip - you just pull them on so I was quite certain they wouldn't fit.  But they fit like a glove and are form fitting enough to be flattering but they aren't uncomfortably tight.   Downside is they are "cropped" but aren't short at all on me.  Oh well, don't tell anyone that they should be shorter.  I'm wearing them with the new jean jacket that I found at Kohl's this week.  Who knew jean jackets would be back in style?
Next up is the Pomelo Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse.  Looking at this picture makes me second glance sending it back but it photographs better than it actually looks.  I wasn't a fan of the sleeves.  There were studs on the sleeves and they were a bit tight and awkward.  Nice color though.  And still totally loving these pants.  By the way, do you like the glasses?  I am trying them out.  Warby Parker allows you to pick 5 frames to try out at home to see what you like.

Everyone loves a good cardigan, right?  I actually have a few grey cardigan's but this one just can't be passed up.  It just looks nice.  Some of my other one's are frumpy.  I would throw them on if I was cold but they would never add anything to an outfit.  So I'm stoked about this one.  It's always cold in the office so I will get some use out of this one even in the summer.

Next came the Toss Josie Tassel Clutch.  I'm really not a purse person but thought that I should be open minded.  Maybe that is the answer for how to be stylish... the right clutch?  Eh, not this one.  It is too big for a flat squarish clutch.  And not sure what I would do with the orange.

I really wanted to like this dress (41Hawthorn Maddison Geo Print Belted Shirt Dress).  But it wasn't happening.  It looked like I grabbed a shirt out of Eric's closet.  The collar was a bit odd.  Overall just not a good look for me, so definitely going back.

Here's a shout out to my first fix.  This was the outfit I got.  LOVE IT!  These are jeans that also fit so well.  The top is sleeveless, which means a cardigan is essential for me at work.

If you want to try it out?  Please use the link below.  But beware, it is addicting!

Cuteness

Hailey loves getting under her sister's skin so she snuck her shoes and put them on.  Dressing up like a big girl!

Last weekend Kaitlyn wanted to wear her Halloween costume.  Kind of ironic since she would barely wear this costume on Halloween!

This is how Eric found Kaitlyn this morning.  She must have gotten up early and layed down on the couch.  She was passed out!

Double glasses!

Hailey's First Trip to Sea World

We got a great deal at Sea World this year and we had to go before June to activate it (buy one get one free annual pass for me and Eric and Kaitlyn was free under some pre-school promotion).  The weather was supposed to be great today so we got in the car and headed out to the park.  And man, was the weather gourgeous!  The girls had a blast and really enjoyed walking around, seeing the animals, playing and we even caught a little bit of a show.  This was the first of many trips this summer.

When we got to the park I noticed Hailey had removed her shoes and her socks and then put her shoes back on the wrong feet!  Such a cutie.

We had to wait in line to show Kaitlyn's birth certificate.  Quite the slow start to our day but the girls were very patient.  Here is Kaitlyn in line.

Once we got in the park we stopped to put on sunscreen.  Last year Kaitlyn really put up a fight every time we put on sunscreen.  It really put a damper on the start of any outdoor activity.  Well much to our amazement, she tolerated it very well!  No crying or protesting.  Awesome!  This kid never ceases to amaze me.  Also, look at the air under her feet - super excited.

We would pop periodically into exhibits to try and cool down.  It is getting hot already and it is the beginning of May!  The girls loved looking at the animals.  Here were some fishies and turtles.

EEEWWW! They both were super interested in this snake.  And it was moving and very interested in us.  Totally creaped me out.

We sat down and relaxed while Eric got us some drinks and we sat right by this turtle.  He was right at the edge and just watched us.

And here is Hailey playing with fire.  Poor kid is so interested in Kaitlyn's toys and knows that she isn't supposed to play with them.  So every chance she gets, she sneaks some play time in.

Here the girls are checking out the penguins.  After that we saw the puffins. It sounded like Kaitlyn was calling them "muffins." :)

We took a break and the kids played on the playground.  Right away Hailey followed Kaitlyn up to the very top.  Eeks.  No fear in that kid.  She had no interest in going down any of the big slides though so Eric went up and brought her down.  Then we encouraged her to play on the smaller kids part of the playground.

This was in by the fish and sharks.  None of these will win any photographer awards, but I love seeing their smiles (and I know grandma will too).

Lunch time!  Picnic style.

We tried to check out the Clyde Sea Otter show but ended up taking too long in the bathroom.  We got seated with only 5 minutes left in the show.  Oh, well.  It was a test of sorts to see how they did.  I was really glad to see them enjoy it.

We can't wait to go back!
