We got a great deal at Sea World this year and we had to go before June to activate it (buy one get one free annual pass for me and Eric and Kaitlyn was free under some pre-school promotion). The weather was supposed to be great today so we got in the car and headed out to the park. And man, was the weather gourgeous! The girls had a blast and really enjoyed walking around, seeing the animals, playing and we even caught a little bit of a show. This was the first of many trips this summer.
When we got to the park I noticed Hailey had removed her shoes and her socks and then put her shoes back on the wrong feet! Such a cutie.
We had to wait in line to show Kaitlyn's birth certificate. Quite the slow start to our day but the girls were very patient. Here is Kaitlyn in line.
Once we got in the park we stopped to put on sunscreen. Last year Kaitlyn really put up a fight every time we put on sunscreen. It really put a damper on the start of any outdoor activity. Well much to our amazement, she tolerated it very well! No crying or protesting. Awesome! This kid never ceases to amaze me. Also, look at the air under her feet - super excited.
We would pop periodically into exhibits to try and cool down. It is getting hot already and it is the beginning of May! The girls loved looking at the animals. Here were some fishies and turtles.
EEEWWW! They both were super interested in this snake. And it was moving and very interested in us. Totally creaped me out.
We sat down and relaxed while Eric got us some drinks and we sat right by this turtle. He was right at the edge and just watched us.
And here is Hailey playing with fire. Poor kid is so interested in Kaitlyn's toys and knows that she isn't supposed to play with them. So every chance she gets, she sneaks some play time in.
Here the girls are checking out the penguins. After that we saw the puffins. It sounded like Kaitlyn was calling them "muffins." :)
We took a break and the kids played on the playground. Right away Hailey followed Kaitlyn up to the very top. Eeks. No fear in that kid. She had no interest in going down any of the big slides though so Eric went up and brought her down. Then we encouraged her to play on the smaller kids part of the playground.
This was in by the fish and sharks. None of these will win any photographer awards, but I love seeing their smiles (and I know grandma will too).
Lunch time! Picnic style.
We tried to check out the Clyde Sea Otter show but ended up taking too long in the bathroom. We got seated with only 5 minutes left in the show. Oh, well. It was a test of sorts to see how they did. I was really glad to see them enjoy it.
We can't wait to go back!
