Fall Festival

Last Friday I took the girls to the Hardy Oak Fall Festival.  It was awesome!  I couldn't believe how elaborate everything was.

Kaitlyn must have gone through this fun house 5+ times.  There was a ball pit, a ladder, a slide, a bouncy bridge.  I was impressed that she had no issues and really liked it!

She came home that day with these sunglasses in her backpack.  Maybe from the Treasure Chest?  But she loved wearing them at the festival.

And she loved dancing with the Hornet.

This is her version of "getting low."

And proof that Hailey was indeed with us. Unfortunately most of the things that Kaitlyn wanted to do were a bit big for her.  Next year Eric will have to come too so we can split up at times.

And this was a bouncy structure that was set up for 2 people to race through the obstacles.  She loved it!  Too bad it was really cold that night and they had to take both socks and shoes off!  (I was impressed that she even did that)

It was a great night and we even won the silent auction for a lunch with Miss Anna - Kaitlyn's PPCD teacher.  I can't wait until next year!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year.  Kaitlyn has been so into Peppa Pig so I ordered this Peppa Princess outfit off of Etsy.  She loved it and even asked to wear it to school the following Monday!

And this one wanted to be Elsa.  Look at the cutie checking herself out in the mirror.  She loved her Elsa dress.

Here the girls are all dressed and ready to go out trick-or-treating.

They both enjoyed ringing the doorbells but often said "trick-or-treat" too early or not at all.  One time Kaityn said "Chocolate!"  It was a sad showing on the street.  Many weren't home.  One house left out bottled water and another left out cupcakes!  And so many houses that were decorated didn't have anyone home.  Maybe because Halloween was on a Saturday everyone was out at parties?  Oh well, the girls still got plenty of chocolate and had a blast!  They are still talking about Halloween over a week later!

Kaitlyn's 6th Birthday

This year we felt that it was time to do a big party for Kaitlyn with her classmates.  And I felt like her best chance at success would be a party at our house.  So we set out to plan an OUTDOOR party.  Bounce house, activities outside, it was going to be awesome.  The invitations went out to her entire Kindergarten class:

But then we saw the weather forecast.  Rain and wind... So no Bounce House :(....  And I was left to scramble a week before the party.  Luckily we were able to come up with a backup plan.

When the kids arrived we did some crafts.  Inside.  Gulp.  It was fine though.  They decorated Peppa Pig faces.

And then.... My backup plan... ELSA arrived!  Hailey and I had been at a party the month before where Elsa and Anna came and sang so we were so fortunate to be able to book Elsa at the last minute.

Kaitlyn was super excited, but a little shy at first.

And how cute are these kids?  The one in yellow wore that color because she knew it was Kaitlyn's favorite.  Her name is Grace and they are sweet together.  Coincidentally I met Grace's mom at the first PTO meeting so I'm glad that our kids ended up liking each other.

Elsa sange 2 songs for the group.

And then they played a game of Hot Potato with Olaf.

Hailey got out first but that meant she got to stand with Elsa!

The kids all got to take pictures with Elsa.

I paid way too much for these cookies... At least they tasted good.

But I got a bargain of a cake from Target.  Their cakes are so yummy.

Family photo!

This is Kaitlyn's friend Izzy from last year in PPCD.  Ms. Anna told us how sweet the girls were together so we reached out and invited her.  Too bad she is at Wilderness Oaks Elementry this year.

The kids were all sweet and helped Kaitlyn open the gifts.  She didn't mind the help at all!

At the end of the day it was the longest 2 hours of my life (LOL) but the party was a success!  I was so relieved and happy that a small group of nice kids showed up and celebrated Kaitlyn's birthday with her.

Morgan's Wonderland

In October, Eric went to the coast for a guy's weekend.  Jenny happened to be in town so we had our own version of a girl's weekend.  On Saturday, we went to Morgan's Wonderland.  The girls had fun but we didn't spend too much time with Aria and Kinzie.  It seemed like we often went different ways!

The Carousel is always a hit.  I had to limit the times we went around!

We rode the cars for the first time.  We scrunched all 3 of us in the front seat.

And look, proof that Jenny was there!  We rode the train together.

And more carousel!

These girls were pretty adventurous on the playground.  It cracked me up to watch Hailey try and do exactly what Kaitlyn was doing.

We had a fun afternoon!

October pics

I can't believe how fast the year has gone!  October was another great month.  Look at these cuties admiring themselves in the mirror with their tiaras on.

Hailey definitely gets worn out with us on the weekends.  I think Kaitlyn gets her up too early.  And no naps on the weekends, although she still takes them during the week at Rainbow.  This was one Sunday night where she literally fell asleep playing!

If the background of this pic wasn't such a mess this would be a frame-worthy one!

It was Hailey's turn to go to a birthday party.  The party was for Tiffany, a girl who was in her class last year.  A Princess party, complete with a bounce house and a visit from Elsa and Anna.

Elsa and Anna each sang a song and then Elsa read the girls a story.  Afterward they played a game and got some makeup put on!

Eeeks??? Make-up at age 3? Good thing Hailey hasn't requested we do this again.

Kaitlyn has been trying lots of sweets.  Here she was asking for a lollipop.

Here was a pic that Kaitlyn took one night.

And a selfie - such a ham.

She was also into taking black and white photos for awhile.  Hailey's such a beauty and I love the way she looks in B&W!

More selfies!
