We got in the car as soon as Kaitlyn got out of school on Friday. So we got down there right about dinner time. We unpacked and just hung out that evening.
In the morning we went to Rodney and Terri's house for some breakfast. The girls had fun hanging out playing on their bunk beds! After that, the girls and I headed to the beach while Eric got some keys made. I was surprised to see so many people out there and even some kids in swimsuits playing in the water! It was so pretty and clear out there but a little chilly. Not your typical January cold, but still tou cold for the beach. But that didn't stop the girls from dipping their toes in the water.
As usual, Hailey was more timid than Kaitlyn. At first she kept her distance from the water. But then a wave came and left some water in a pool. So she had fun splashing about in that little bit of water.
Then Hailey got more brave and started running from the waves with Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn kept going farther and farther out there and ended up with wet pants (although she didn't seem to mind). But once Hailey's pants were wet - we were done!
The festival was Saturday afternoon. There was a band, toys for the kids, some art exhibits (that I never go around to looking at) and some adult beverages! Gorgeous weather!
Lucy (?!?) painted Kaitlyn's face. At first she asked for a lemon! I'm not sure why... there is a Peppa Pig episode where they are at a fair and there is an element of fruit.... Lucy finished the lemon but Kaitlyn was not satisfied. So Lucy added some cat whiskers and nose! I like that she loves to get her face painted now.
Afterwards, we went to dinner in town with Rodney and Terri - selfie time!
What a fun, quick escape to paradise!
