Houston Roadtrip for Scott's 40th

Last weekend we went to Houston for Scott's 40th Birthday.  It was another weekend of firsts for us.  We drove to Houston on Saturday morning.  Kaitlyn was great on the drive.  We put on the Bambi DVD and she played with the ipad.

We stayed in a Residence Inn so we could have a separate place for Kaitlyn to sleep.  Nap time was an adventure for us.  She stayed in a cot out on the living room.  It was our first hotel stay with her.  She did not want to nap and was really upset, but we finally got her to get in the cot.  Once she was there, she cried for a bit but finally fell asleep.  She didn't get up from the cot until we came to get her hours later.  (Mommy got a catnap in too!)

Here she was all dressed for Scott's 40th birthday party dinner, fresh from bath time!

Here is Kaitlyn with Grandma and Grandpa, all dressed up and ready to go! (Hook 'em horns!)  She was a doll at the party.  We weren't sure how it would go, but Kaitlyn was a doll!  She entertained herself, sat in some laps and was all smiles.  We were even able to stay for dessert.

Here she is posing with Uncle Scott, Grandma and Grandpa!

Here she is on Sunday morning enjoying some breakfast in bed.  She is all about the puffs these days.  She chews them and mostly spits them out.  But she will swallow some and she is really enjoying it.  We love that she is getting more brave (we love it so much we let her eat in bed!)

We knew Kaitlyn had to get some energy out before we got in the car to come home on Sunday, so we headed to the Woodlands Mall.  Another first for us - walking with Kaitlyn through the mall!  It had been awhile since we went to a mall and every other time she rode in her stroller.  She was pretty well behaved and stayed near us.  Of course, we had tons of help from Uncle Scott, Grandma and Grandpa.

Here she is riding the carousel with Daddy.  I think she went on 6 rides - split between Uncle Scott, Grandpa and us.

This was a little horsey quarter ride.  She enjoyed it but really wanted the horsey to bounce.

What a fun weekend!
