Fun in Floresville
On Saturday we went to Rodney and Terri's for a pumpkin carving get together. Kaitlyn had a blast running around and playing on their swingset. She played with Mackenzie who is 4. She really impressed me by sharing the iPad and even her cereal.

Hailey 3 Weeks Old
Wow, the time is moving so fast! Hailey is 3 weeks old already. Here is what we have been up to since we came home from the hospital.
We were instructed to follow-up with our pediatrician 1 or 2 days after we got home. We showed up for our appointment only to find that our doctor had been on call the night before, so was not available. They asked if we would see the physician's assistant and I broke down in tears! Hormones! We ended up seeing another doctor in the practice. A pretty uneventful appointment. She had gained some weight since being discharged.
It was really nice having Eric off for 2 weeks. We kept Kaitlyn in her same routine (going to school and grandma's) so we had lots of time to get to know Hailey. We took her to restaurants (I-Hop, Egg & I, Jason's Deli, Buffalo Wild Wings, Aldaco's), to the grocery store, and to Costco. We had to go back to the hospital for her newborn screen. I got my haircut, so grandma and grandpa watched her. Eric drove me to the appointment and we also got some lunch that day.
The second week things were a little difficult with Kaitlyn in the evenings. I think she was having a little jealousy and acting out. On the weekend, we tried to keep her routine the same and we visited some of our usual haunts (Willie's, Buffalo Wild Wings). Things are going quite well with Kaitlyn and Hailey. Kaitlyn knows Hailey's name and thinks it's funny when she cries. She already seems a little protective of her sister.
Eric went back to work this week. On Monday I had my first test. I had to get Kaitlyn to school by 8 and Hailey to the doctor at 8:45. Success. At her appointment, she weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. The doctor heard her heart murmur, so wants us to follow up with a cardiologist. I called immediately for an appointment, but there is a two month wait!
Yesterday I met Becky and Emily for lunch and then headed over to visit with people at work. It was really nice to have some adult interaction. Hailey was a champ. Everybody wanted to hold her and she was sleeping or calm the whole time. I fed her and we changed a diaper. All in all it was a great experience.

More School Pics
These were all taken the first weeks after Hailey's birth when Eric was bringing Kaitlyn to school. You can tell, because her hair is down!

Pics from the Yellow Room
Here are the first pictures from the Yellow room. I've noticed they don't seem to take as many pictures as they did in the Red room. And either these are all from the same day, or Kaitlyn wears that outfit a ton!
We signed her up for Soccer Tots. I figured she loves to run around and of course, I would love for her to be exposed to soccer. Here's a glimpse of what it looks like. Chaos!
I like pictures like this. We've wondered if she participates in the activities along with the other kids. Sure looks like it to me!
Thought this one was cute - vroom, vroom!
They have reported to us that she loves riding the bike. She rides at least once a day. I guess we need to work on that one at home!
Such a ham!
The other thing they say she loves to do is play with chalk. Who knew?!?! I would have thought the messiness of it all would turn her off. Another thing we need to try! And look, she's using they yellow!

Sneak Peek
Here's a sneak peek at the announcements I just ordered. I'm pretty proud of myself. I did a mini-photo session with Hailey on Friday by myself. This was the only good picture I got before she got upset, but I might try again next week. I had to edit the background a bit - a little of the carpet and wall were showing. But I think I did a good job - you can't tell at all!

First Outing as a Family of Four
Last Saturday we loaded up the car and headed to Willies for lunch. The outing was a success. Mom and Dad enjoyed getting out of the house and Kaitlyn had some fun. Hailey got some good zzz's in.
Hospital Pictures
So long overdue - what can I say, we've been busy! But here are the pictures from the hospital. This is my first meeting with Miss Hailey right before they took her from the delivery room and to the NICU.
8 lbs, 12 oz - a big girl. The doctor was right!
Here they are cleaning her up in the delivery room. She was wailing!
Here was her home in the NICU.
They brought me to see her on my way from recovery to our postpartum room. It was tough because I was pretty immobile. The spinal was still in effect and I was pretty wiped out. So I really could just lay there and look at her.
On Saturday, they brought her to our room. Poor girl's cheeks were super red from all the tape. She kept pulling it off - we have a feisty one!
Proud poppa!

Snug as a bug in a rug!

Here we are all dressed to go home on Sunday! This outfit is adorable and was a big hit with the nurses. It was a gift from my coworkers. The hat was too cute!
