March 2013
Kaitlyn has been asking to use Eric's computer a lot lately. She types in word pad and will call out the letters as she types them. She also likes to use the mouse. She manages to get into all sorts of stuff but so far hasn't broken anything!
She loves her horsey. He sits on top of her bed but she asks for him to come down. She has been cuddling with him and riding him around the house. Such a silly girl.
Kaitlyn brought this book to Hailey and she looked like she was actually reading it. But two seconds later she stuck the book in her mouth and tried to eat it.
We have started to put Hailey in the bath with Kaitlyn. It provides a nice distraction and they both seem to enjoy it. Here Kaitlyn was showing Hailey her crayon. Two seconds after this picture, she dropped it on Hailey's head. Hailey didn't even cry!
Last week they did a 50's dress up day at daycare. I didn't have much for Hailey to wear. All I could muster was bobby socks and a flower headband (flower power??? Is that even the right decade?). The 80's legwarmers were a nice touch.
I was off Good Friday and the daycare was closed. So I got to spend the day with the girls. We started off with matching outfits. And look, Hailey is even wearing a headband!
She has gotten good at rolling. She doesn't go all the way over every time, but she has gotten really good at reaching and grabbing things.
And here was Kaitlyn quietly playing with her tablet on the couch under her "blankies." This was the calm before the storm...
And how cute is this? Totally impromptu - just laid down on the stairs and I was fortunate enough to have my phone handy to snap some photos.
And a Hailey and Mommy self portrait. We were sitting on the back porch. I brought a blanket outside but the grass was wet so we didn't sit down. Hailey really liked being able to see herself while we took the picture.
Sweet Potatoes for the first time this weekend (cereal, peaches, and now sweet potatoes). She had her hands all over the place. In her mouth and then to her eye and then on the chair... Messy!
This was Saturday at Alamo Cafe. It was a gorgeous afternoon and Kaitlyn really enjoyed running around on the patio. There was a bratty boy who stuck stick in her face. We were fortunate that her glasses blocked it. I don't think it would have been a horrible injury, but there definitely would have been tears!
And this was tonight. She was coloring using my pen... with her left hand. What gets pen out of sheets??
And then she switched to her right hand. She enjoys playing with pens much more than plain old crayons.

More of Hailey showing off her bow.

Dying Easter Eggs
Today Kaitlyn and I dyed Easter Eggs. At first Kaitlyn wasn't sure about the whole thing but she ended up having fun. She would put the eggs in the colors and then tell me when to "take them out." When we had finished dying each egg I thought we were done. But oh no! Kaitlyn started picking up the eggs we had already dyed and putting them back in! I was encouraged by that since the eggs were wet and she had to get a little messy. What fun!
Spring is Here
Kaitlyn and I had some fun today in the yard. The new house is coming along so we don't have too many weekends in this house left.

Smugmug
Here's the latest pictures from daycare. We don't get as many of Kaitlyn anymore. Her teachers don't take as many pictures as the one's did last year. And she is also not there from 11-3 everyday so she misses out on some.
Can you see Hailey in the back right?
Apparently they like to take pictures of her sleeping. Probably because she hardly ever sleeps while she is there! I think there is too much excitement going on around her that she doesn't want to miss.
Not sure what this was?? At least she looks happy?
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn looks bored here. She doesn't get into the painting as much as the other kids. But she sure is sitting there nicely.
And wow? Acrobatics!

Catching up
This was one morning when I went to get Hailey up to take her to daycare. She was out and not stirring at all. Such a cutie.
This isn't a very good picture, but wanted to show the cute outfit my mom got Hailey. We've been loving the babylegs. The ladies at daycare always fawn over her when we walk in with them on.
Just chilling on the bed. I was taking pictures to send to my mom. She had her surgery 10 days ago and is recovering. These girls miss her!
"What do you mean I can't see my grammy today?"
Kaitlyn eating her latest favorite food - french fries!
We've been a little under the weather around the Aitken house. This is Kaitlyn on Monday after we took her to the doctor (ear infection). She got a Dora sticker that made it all better. Oh, and I let her wear her Hello Kitty pajamas to the doctor's office!
