I had my doctor visit today. In and out in 20 minutes, so it was pretty quick. We listened to the baby's heartbeat again - 150 beats per minute this time. I asked her about my weight - if I was gaining too quickly (20+ lbs already, whoops). She said that some women have a big spurt around now and then level out. She didn't seem too concerned and just told me to watch what I eat and get some exercise. Hmm, exercise - I had kinda forgotten about that! And I suppose I'll cut back on the desserts...
Next visit (the biggie with the first ultrasound where we should be able to find out the sex) is scheduled for July 2!

Trip to Babies 'R Us
I went to Babies 'R Us on Tuesday during lunch. I was shopping for a baby shower gift. Good thing I had limited time! Walking in the store, it was like I was entering it for the first time. Everything looked different somehow. I was even treated differently. The kiosk was down so I had to go to the desk to request a printout. The lady assumed it was for my registry and asked "what is your name?"
I refrained from walking around too much and tried to focus on the task at hand. But I definitely found myself considering every item - wondering if I would need that too :)

All Disney-ed Out
We are home from our 8 day/7 night trip to Orlando and man, am I pooped! I usually come home from vacation needing another just to rest but this one takes the cake! We visited 7 parks over the course of 5 days. We hit the 4 main Disney parks, 1 Disney water park and the 2 Universal Studios parks.
And while I saw plenty of mommies-to-be at the parks, theme parks are not that mommy-t0-be friendly. A vast majority of the fun rides have restrictions that prohibit pregnant women from getting on, so that left me to wander the park looking for something less-fun to do. At least I had plenty of time for snacks and dessert (averaged 2 a day!). I figure all that extra eating was countered by the INSANE amount of walking.
In spite of that, I did have a good time. Here are some highlights:

In spite of that, I did have a good time. Here are some highlights:
- We saw Bruce Bowen in the airport on the way to Orlando. He was on the same flight with his family and we even saw him again the next day at Magic Kingdom. He glared at me at the airport. I was trying to take pictures with my cell phone. I think it was the "I'm with my family, will you leave me alone" glare.
- Disney gave me a button to wear on my birthday that said "it's my birthday" and my name. That meant that the employees were supposed to wish me a happy birthday. I said if I got to 50 wishes, I was going to take it off. I think I only got to 18.
- The Soarin' ride at Epcot - I was super excited because it was something that sounded really fun and no restrictions for me. It was cool and even a bit scary! Some of that roller coaster thrill without being on a roller coaster.
- Muppet Vision 3D at Hollywood Studios - it just doesn't get better than the Muppets!
- High School Musical and Beauty and the Beast shows at Hollywood Studios - singing, dancing - need I say more?
- One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish - at Universal Islands of Adventure. There was very little for me to do there so I went to the kiddie park. This ride ended up being kinda entertaining but it was funny when I walked up all by myself and the attendant asked "2?" Uh, no - just 1. I guess most adults don't ride alone...
- The Magic Kingdom experience - truly is a magical place.

A fake belly????
I was brave today and entered my first maternity store. After finding some clothes to try on the saleslady brought me to a changing room. She then pointed to a belly pillow that "makes your stomach 3 months larger." OK - I had to try it! But it freaked me out totally, because I thought - oh my gosh, I'll be huge!!

Where did that come from?
I swear a belly just popped out this week! OK, so my belly wasn't perfectly flat to begin with but in the last couple of days I have definitely noticed it getting rounder. And it's hard!

13 weeks
Sigh. When I left my house this morning, these pants fit. But when I got to work, I thought - not so much. So I went in search of a rubber band. Unfortunately these pants don't button, they have a kinda hook/clasp.
The first rubber band I found was heavy duty and couldn't fit under the hook. So I decided that I would just leave them unbuttoned, hidden under my belt - and just wing it. Every time I stood up, I had to make sure all was well.
This afternoon I tried to look for another rubber band and was successful. However, in my manipulation - the rubber band broke.
Maternity clothes update: my neighbor was kind enough to loan me some items and I bought a few things at Kohl's today. Unfortunately I have this mix of super casual shorts, etc or dresses/skirts. Nothing really in between. The pants in the store are all too long so I need to find somewhere that carries petite maternity pants or order some more online.

Maternity Clothes
Today is my first day to wear maternity clothes. I put in an order at oldnavy.com and I received it yesterday. I was shooting for the "staples." Here's what I got:
- Jeans - but they don't fit over my rear. They came in normal pre-pregnancy sizes. I should have known they wouldn't fit because normal old navy jeans never fit me. I think I'm going to try and exchange for a bigger size. I guess the question is - go up one size or two?
- Jean skirt - super cute. The skirt goes right to or my knees and is stretchy - so super comfy. It has a "full panel" so goes up over the big belly (when I get the big belly). But for now, I folded that over to help keep the skirt in place. That's what I'm wearing today with a normal shirt that's kinda loose/balloony/long.
- Cute black dress made of jersey material - that's a picture of it to the right. It has a little tie in front but came untied and I have no idea how to tie it the way it is shown. I'll just have to do a cute bow. This dress screams "I'm pregnant." But I also think it's one of those dresses if anyone put it on, people would suspect. So I'll save it for when I'm ready to make that statement. I think, even though it is black, it will be a nice summer dress to wear. Hopefully I can swing it in Disney.
- A pair of shorts - these are kinda weird though because they are the type that are meant to go under the belly. So they are way low in the front. More Disney stuff.
- Simple shirt - as I said, was going for the staples.
